Full course description

This Fundamentals of Reliability & Maintainability course is designed to assist professionals in preparation for certification testing for the CMRP, CMRT, or others. This course is not an introductory course. It is designed for professionals with some background and experience with Reliability.

No one source can supply all that is covered in the SMRP Body of Knowledge. The course will review and define the 14 elements of the RCM Competitive Excellence Model.

The RMC Competitive Excellence Model consists of a multi-layered pyramid defining the Reliability Model in three major categories:

  • Organization & Culture
  • Standardized Work Processes
  • Optimize and Sustain

Within each of these layers are blocks where we explore detailed ideas and concepts within Reliability Centered Maintenance. As we begin each layer there will be a 30-question quiz with a 30-minute time limit. At the conclusion of the training there will be a 110-question exam with a 2 1/2-hour time limit. This exam follows the same guidelines as the SMRP CMRP Exam. You will receive the results at the end of the quizzes and exams.

This professional review mirrors the teachings in the SMRP Body of Knowledge. One of the criteria to succeed in any certification exam is to be able to recognize ideas and specifics from many angles or elevations. For this reason, it is highly recommended that other resources are studied as well as taking classes such as this one. Certification testing is looking for a depth of knowledge on the subject as well as your ability to apply principals and ideas to manufacturing floor situations. This course is designed to verify your overall knowledge of Reliability Centered Maintenance. It will also identify the areas where more study would be beneficial.
